Casting Overview

Looking for actresses based in Switzerland/ Germany to be in my film ’Fate’. It is an English language family drama.

The story is about a girl named Malia and she dreams of becoming a singer. But she is abused by her mother Orlena and her sister Crystal. One day Malia decides to run away and meets Sophie, who helps her get closer to her dream. Malia in a final confrontation choses a life free of abuse.

The shooting of the film will take place in Zurich in the week of January 15, 2024.

ROLE: Sophie f, 18-20, Native English speaking level Sophie Nickolai Jennings is 19 year-old, she is an empathetic person but doesn’t allow herself to be pushed over or used. She works as an assistant and is developing a backbone. Sophie is someone who means well and tries to do her best not to hurt people. However Sophie can sometimes be too giving and end up hurting herself in a relationship.

She is spoiled and entitled and she has no regard for the feelings of others, partially those she doesn’t like, for example Malia. However Crystal is completely different amongst friends; she is the life of the party and is a charmer like her mother Orlena. Crystal doesn’t like hard work and looks for cuts or the easy way out. She loves praise and admiration and wishes to be famous.

She is friendly and smart, but can also be very cowardly and a bit boring. Unfortunately because of her abusive mother she ends up following what her mother says to stay in her good books. She loves to sing and make music.
