Casting Overview

Casting English speaking actors for "The Detour", a comedy/action student short-film.

Pitch: Two Japanese tourists, Mako & Hideo, come to Paris for the first time. Hideo has planned an intricate proposal for Mako but gets his phone snatched. These tourists track the pickpocket & find his storage cellar. But little do they know... two French police officers are on the watch, and they are not charmed by the tourists.

Shooting from June 4th 2024 to June 6th 2024 (3 days) in Paris.

Since it is a student short-film, actors are not paid but transportation* meals, snacks and drinks during the shoot are taken care of.

*Please note: We accept actors from any European country, as long as they are interested in our project. However, as this is a student short-film, we cannot provide actors with a way to get to Paris from their country of residence, nor a place to sleep in Paris. Therefore, priority is given to actors living in France and near the Ile-de-France region.

The payment details mentioned in the message are that actors will not be paid for their roles in the student short film However transportation meals snacks and drinks during the shoot will be provided

MAIN ROLE: Mako and Hideo Mako is a Japanese woman between the age of 20 yo to 35 yo. Hideo is a Japanese man between the age of 20 yo to 35 yo. The language requirement for the two main actors is approximately level B2 in English, the actors should be able to express themselves in English without too much difficulty. *Please include your: name, age, nationality, place of residence, spoken languages (and your level in each), the role you are auditioning for and a photo of yourself. CV (optional). NB: If applying from outside France please state you are prepared to cover your own travel and/or accommodation expenses.
