FRANCE: actors (m/f) 16-99, English spkrs, for a multidisciplinary play in Île-de-France [NP]
Casting Overview
We are launching an open call for talented and passionate comedians, actors, dancers, acrobats, singers, and musicians to join the artistic collaboration “The Followers of Phaedra” — a multidisciplinary play infused with choreographic elements.
This project is an exciting opportunity to work alongside artists from different countries and disciplines, creating a powerful and unique performance together. This is an experimental theater project exploring the complex relationship between the individual and society. The play delves into the struggles between personal identity and societal expectations, highlighting the influence of social media on how we perceive ourselves — and how we are perceived by others. In a unique narrative twist, the protagonist is portrayed as a secondary character, while the Chorus — representing the collective voice of society — gradually takes the central role, becoming the true protagonist of the story. Through movement, voice, and dynamic storytelling, the piece examines the conflict between inner truth and external judgment, questioning where authenticity lies in a world driven by image and conformity.
For rehearsals over the next 7 weeks and performances in July in Paris and Île-de-France.
This is a non-paid project at this stage. We have applied for funding and are awaiting results. In the meantime, it is a wonderful chance to collaborate, perform, and connect with an inspiring international group.
