Casting Overview
Casting ”For Your Own Good – You Are Worth It” a short film (Diploma Project – SAE Institute Zürich).
Synopsis: This compelling story follows Amalia, a young woman trapped in a toxic relationship with her manipulative boyfriend, Leo. As Amalia struggles between her love for Leo and the growing emotional pain, she finds a safe harbour in her friend Martin, who encourages her to put her well-being first. With Martin’support, Amalia reaches a breaking point and makes the difficult decision to break free from Leo’s grip, symbolized by a metaphorical leap from the diving board. The film explores themes of self-love, emotional abuse, and personal growth, showcasing Amalia’s journey towards healing and freedom.
Shooting in the Canton of Ticino in April and/or May 2025 (exact dates to be confirmed) and will not exceed a total of 5 days (barring unforeseen circumstances).
As a student film project, we are unable to offer monetary compensation but we do provide the following benefits:
1. Cost Coverage: Meals and Accommodation (you will be invited to stay at our home, no hotel or other lodging).
2. Professional and Creative Experience: Gain valuable experience working on a film set, collaborating with passionate and dedicated students.
Roles
Role Description:
• Character: Amalia
• Age of the character: 22 years old
• Background: currently entangled in a toxic relationship with Leo. Amalia is beginning to realize that emotional manipulation and abuse are not expressions of love.
Essential Requirements:
1. Emotional Range: Ability to convey a wide range of emotions, from vulnerability to strength.
2. Language Skills: Comfortable working in an English-speaking environment, with good to excellent English pronunciation.
3. Diving Ability: No fear of diving into a pool from a 3-meter diving board and able to swim.
Preferred Requirements:
1. Experience: Proven experience in portraying complex characters in emotionally charged scenes.
2. Artistic Skills: Ideally, someone who can draw and/or paint.
