Casting Overview
Casting 3 main roles in ”Blondi,” a short film shot entirely in German.
Logline: German Shepherd Blondi bears witness to historical events while trying to play catch with her master, Adolf Hitler.
Synopsis: A dog is a man’s best friend, even if that man is the Führer? Blondi explores the relationship between history’s most despicable man and his beloved German Shepherd. From eating the crumbs under the table at the Führer’s birthday, to living in the confinement of the bunker, this film presents intimate snapshots of the dog’s daily life intertwined with the realities of war and fictitious, humorous newsreels, depicting the oblivious pet’s significant and surreal impact on the Reich.
The film is intended to have a physical exhibition plan, ideally being screened on the festival circuit. Several international film festivals cast a spotlight on quirky and thought-provoking works.
Shooting in London in mid Feb/April (3 day shoot total, exact dates TBC).
Unpaid roles but local travel expenses covered and food provided on the shoot. Also copy of the film after its festival run for use in showreels.
NB: Actors based outside of the UK can also apply as long as they can cover their own travel costs.
