Casting Overview

For a 10 minute short film surrounding the real story of Barbara Buchanan. To be filmed in Bristol in early April.

Synopsis: Barbara is a young journalist In 1930s Bristol with a passion for activism. When she begins writing an article about the implementation of smear tests, she faces misogyny and backlash from her boss and co-workers. When forced to work with a challenging contributor, she must make an important decision: does she risk her professionalism in the face of criticism or rise to the challenge to get her voice heard. 

As the characters in the story are based on real people, we must ask that actors bare resemblance to the character they’re auditioning for.
