This is a bittersweet, surrealistic drama short film shooting for three days in early July 2023

On a hot summer night in East London, Jaelyl & Nova, meet up for the first time since their explosive fight to reconcile their 'situationship'. But, as the night goes on, they're eventually forced to confront the sad reality, that it might be time to let each other go once and for all..

A bittersweet, surrealistic depiction of modern love & lust, focusing on a 'situationship' between a Gen-Z couple. The film explores different attachment & communication styles and how this leads to frustrating misunderstandings and toxicity in a relationship. There are no villains in this story - Jaelyl and Nova love each other but are stuck at a dead end, simply due to their inability to communicate efficiently and express their true emotions.

Paid: £120 per day (10-hour work day) or £60 for a half day (5-hour work day). Extra rehearsal days will also be paid.

JAELYL is a recent graduate, living in South East London, working in music. He is introverted yet charming & confident, with a mysterious feel to him. Jaelyl is calm, clever and creative, with passion for arts & music. Despite growing up in a loving, close-knit family, he has always struggled to express himself and has an avoidant attachment style which was only made worse, when he was trapped in a toxic, emotionally abusive relationship with his ex, who is still haunting him. Should be 169 — 240 cm; please specify your height.

NOVA is a fine arts student in her early 20s, living in East London. She is an intelligent, witty and spontaneous free spirit, with a mischievous side. She carries trauma from an early age and has been through hardships that have led her to have mental health issues and an anxious attachment style. Nova can be even self-destructive at times. Her insecurities haunt her and her lack of impulse control, often puts her in the midst of chaotic situations. But at her core, she is sensitive, empathetic and simply wants to be understood and heard.
