Casting Overview

Casting talent in/around Rotherham for "Becoming British" a durational performance by Lora Krasteva inspired by her own experience of gaining British Citizenship.

Join Lora Krasteva and other migrant artists throughout a 6-hour durational performance challenging and interrogating national identity, notions of nationality and belonging. During the performance, an installation will be built around the performers, so audiences can engage with interviews, artwork and lived experience. Every hour will be different. Every audience will experience the work in a different way.

Performance Location: ROAR, Rotherham
Rehearsal: Tuesday 04 March
Performance: Wednesday 05 March

Paid: £200 per day (£400 total) + travel expenses covered (if necessary).

ROLE: Ensemble Requirements: You must be a first generation migrant (e.g. you moved to the UK as a child or adult) and based in/around Rotherham (e.g. Leeds, Wakefield, Sheffield) NB: Lora & associate director Christina will have online meetings for 20 - 30 minutes with applicants to answer questions one-on-one about the project, and also to have everyone cold read, as it's an important aspect of the performance. These will take place via Google Meet on Wed 19 & Thurs 20 Feb. The actor will be sent a 10 min intro video which covers everything in a lot more detail and our production pack in advance, no other preparation is required.
