Casting Overview

Casting UK-based actors for “Eight Shuffle”, a short film.

The short film follows two young men navigating the gritty backstreets of Manchester, reflecting on morality and accountability, finding themselves caught in a spiral of deception and self-realization. We then follow the two characters into an unassuming corner shop, where one of them approaches the cashier to seemingly buy something from behind the till, while the other is walking down the different aisles looking around. Their intentions are slowly made clear - the character talking to the cashier was only doing this as a distraction so that the other character could steal without being caught. The cashier eventually realises, and angrily chases them down. The characters have ultimately reverted to their original moral values, struggling to break free from the cycle of wrongdoing despite their moments of insight. 

Shooting in Manchester City Centre.
Dates: TBD, estimated 3 nighttime shoots on weekdays and weekends throughout November 2024.
