Actors with native-level English and some experience of classical text required for a production of Webster's famous tragedy "The Duchess of Malfi".
Outline: The recently widowed Duchess of Malfi defies her brother's order not to remarry, and marries her lover Antonio in secret. This decision triggers a cascade of tragic events that plumb the depths of madness and threaten to destroy a kingdom.
Performances at the Theatre Arche, Vienna on November 5th -16th, 2024
Production will rehearse full-time for 5 weeks in October-November 2024.

ROLE: The Duchess
Female, 30s, with native-level English and some experience of classical text.
About the character: The twin sister of Ferdinand, the Duke. A rebellious and headstrong individual, an intelligent and passionate soul straining against the strictures of her conventional society.

About the character: The older brother of the Duchess and Duke. An outwardly prighish and upright but inwardly corrupt and lascivious, Machiavelian schemer.
