Death in Paradise
(2011)
A British detective, uncomfortable in the heat and culture of the Caribbean, is assigned to a small island police force after his predecessor is murdered. Each episode centres on a seemingly impossible or baffling crime that the fish-out-of-water inspector must solve alongside his local colleagues. The series blends light-hearted comedy with classic whodunit mystery, drawing on the contrast between the detective's buttoned-up British manner and the relaxed island way of life.
