Dukla 61
Режисьор David Ondříček (2018)
A Czech television drama centring on the catastrophic 1961 Dukla mine disaster in Ostrava, in which an underground explosion trapped and killed dozens of miners. The story follows both the desperate rescue efforts mounted by workers and officials above ground and the struggle for survival of those trapped below. Against this backdrop, the production examines the human relationships, personal sacrifices, and political pressures that shaped the response to one of Czechoslovakia's worst industrial tragedies.
