Aspiring singers from across the United Kingdom audition before a panel of judges in hopes of securing a recording contract and launching a professional music career. Contestants are whittled down through a series of rounds, including bootcamp and a mentoring stage at which each judge takes responsibility for a category of acts. The competition culminates in a series of live weekly shows where the public votes to decide who progresses, until a winner is crowned in a grand final.
