Wirecard
(2021)
A German documentary examining the spectacular collapse of Wirecard, the once-celebrated fintech company whose fraudulent accounting practices concealed billions of euros in missing funds. The film traces how the firm's charismatic executives constructed an elaborate fiction of profitability and global reach, fooling regulators, auditors, and investors for years. It follows the journalists and whistleblowers who raised early alarms, and the eventual unravelling that sent shockwaves through the European financial world.
