A ragtag group of heroes and villains from across the DC universe are assembled by the time-traveller Rip Hunter to journey through history aboard a vessel called the Waverider. Their mission is to prevent a powerful threat — most notably the immortal tyrant Vandal Savage — from reshaping the timeline and conquering the world. As the team hops between different eras, they must work together despite their conflicting personalities and agendas, battling anachronisms and temporal anomalies along the way.
