A young boy, unhappy with his parents, takes the extraordinary step of legally divorcing them and sets off around the world to find the perfect replacement family before a deadline expires. He visits various prospective parents from different cultures and backgrounds, but none prove to be quite right. Ultimately he comes to realise that home and family may not be so easily replaced after all.
