The Carmichael Show
(2015)
A stand-up comedian named Jerrod Carmichael navigates life with his opinionated family in Charlotte, North Carolina, including his traditional parents, his brother and their respective partners. The sitcom uses the domestic setting as a springboard for frank, sometimes heated debates about topical social and political issues such as race, religion, gender and sexuality. Each episode typically centres on a single controversial subject, explored through the clashing perspectives of the multi-generational household.
