Trees of Peace

Four women from different backgrounds — a Tutsi, a Hutu, an educated woman, and a nun — are forced to hide together in an underground cellar to survive the Rwandan genocide of 1994. Confined in darkness and dwindling supplies for ninety-one days, they must overcome their cultural and personal differences to endure. The story follows their evolving relationships, conflicts, and moments of solidarity as they wait in hope for the violence above them to end.
