A documentary portrait of the Czech poet and dissident Jiří Gruša, tracing his life from his literary beginnings in communist Czechoslovakia through his forced exile following persecution by the regime, to his later career as a diplomat and cultural ambassador. The film draws on archival material and personal testimony to examine how Gruša's experiences of political oppression shaped both his writing and his public life.
