Impetigore

A young woman working at a toll booth discovers she may be the heir to a large house in a remote Javanese village, and travels there with her best friend hoping to claim her inheritance. The villagers, however, harbour a dark secret connected to her family's past — a generations-old curse that has caused every child born in the village to be stillborn or die shortly after birth. As she uncovers the truth about her parents and the shadow puppetry tradition at the heart of the community, she realises her own existence is bound up in a horrifying ritual that the villagers are determined to complete.
