Božena (miniseries)

A Czech historical miniseries following the life of Božena Němcová, one of the most celebrated and influential writers in Czech literary history. The series traces her turbulent personal life, including her unhappy marriage, passionate love affairs, and the poverty and hardships she endured, alongside her determined pursuit of a literary career. Through her story, the production explores the social constraints placed upon women in nineteenth-century Bohemian society and the personal sacrifices she made in order to write works that would shape Czech national identity.
