La Bella e La Bestia

There have been several Italian productions using this title (the Italian translation of "Beauty and the Beast"), including television films and animated features retelling the classic fairy tale. In the typical version of this story, a young woman named Belle comes to live in the enchanted castle of a fearsome Beast, having been offered in place of her father who trespassed there. Over time she looks beyond the creature's terrifying exterior and falls in love with him, breaking the curse that had transformed a prince into a monster and restoring him to his human form.
