The Long Long Holiday

A group of French children are left with their grandparents in a small village for what they expect to be a brief summer visit, but the outbreak of the Second World War means the stay stretches on indefinitely. The children must adapt to rural life, rationing, and the ever-present shadow of the German occupation, whilst their parents remain separated from them by the chaos of war. The series follows their experiences growing up under extraordinary circumstances across the occupied years of France.
