A Roman psychotherapist finds his professional life thrown into chaos when his financial troubles force him to abruptly end his practice, leaving a group of neurotic and emotionally dependent patients without their sessions. The abandoned patients, unwilling to cope alone, band together and descend upon their former therapist's personal life, upending his domestic arrangements and relationships. The comedy follows the ensuing disorder as the boundaries between therapist and patients collapse entirely.
