A British true-crime television programme in which presenters reconstruct recent unsolved crimes, including murders, rapes and robberies, using dramatic re-enactments and witness accounts. Members of the public are urged to contact the programme with any information they may have, with the aim of assisting police investigations. The format has been a fixture of BBC scheduling since the 1980s, with the 2008 edition continuing this long-running tradition of public appeals.
