A young boy in 1990s Austria navigates childhood with fierce loyalty to his mother, a warm and charismatic woman whose heroin addiction pulls them both into the precarious world of drug dependency and social marginalisation. Despite the chaos and danger surrounding them, the two share a vivid, loving bond that sustains the boy through harrowing circumstances. The film is based on the real-life memoir of journalist Adrian Goiginger, who drew on his own early childhood experiences.
