Robert Langdon wakes in a Florentine hospital with no memory of the past few days, only to find himself pursued by unknown assailants and entangled in a plot involving a deadly plague engineered by a billionaire transhumanist. Teaming up with his doctor, Sienna Brooks, he races across Europe — from Florence to Venice to Istanbul — decoding clues drawn from Dante's *Inferno* to locate and stop the pathogen before it is released. As the investigation deepens, the loyalties of those around Langdon prove far less certain than they first appeared.
