A filmmaker travels to Italy to research a documentary about a high-profile murder trial involving a young American woman accused of killing her British flatmate. As he becomes increasingly absorbed in the case and the media circus surrounding it, the line between professional detachment and personal obsession begins to blur. The film uses the real-world inspiration of the Amanda Knox case as a springboard to explore themes of storytelling, guilt, and the way tragedy is transformed into entertainment.
