A group of refugees attempting to reach safety in Europe are forced to participate in a deadly game orchestrated for the entertainment of wealthy spectators. The participants must navigate dangerous obstacles and compete against one another, with survival as the only prize. The film uses this dystopian premise to comment on the European refugee crisis and the dehumanising way in which displaced people are perceived by society.
