A Portuguese television film dramatising the life of Fernando Salgueiro Maia, the military captain who played a pivotal role in the Carnation Revolution of April 1974, which peacefully ended decades of authoritarian rule in Portugal. The story follows his actions during the coup and explores the personal convictions that drove him to act against the Estado Novo regime. The production honours him as one of the defining figures of modern Portuguese democracy.
