A middle-aged Italian woman named Caterina finds her orderly life disrupted when her three grown daughters return home, each bringing their own complicated personal baggage and relationship troubles. The resulting domestic chaos forces the family to confront old tensions and unresolved conflicts as they attempt to coexist under one roof. Through arguments and reconciliations, the women gradually rediscover their bonds with one another and with their mother.
