A Russian television series that reimagines the life of the legendary Red Army commander Vasily Chapayev, blending historical events from the Russian Civil War with dramatic fictional embellishment. The show follows Chapayev's military campaigns against White Army forces whilst exploring his personal relationships, rivalries, and the complex loyalties of those around him. His mythologised status in Soviet culture is both drawn upon and interrogated as the series portrays him as a flawed, passionate, and fiercely determined figure.
